This repository contains all code and data necessary to replicate the results in: Imbs, Jean and Pauwels, Laurent (2025). "Measuring Foreign Exposure", Journal of International Economics.

Files

Steps to reproduce

First, unzip the file hotpaper.zip. Then refer to the Readme file (available in three formats: .pdf, .html, or .md) in the unzipped hotpaper folder. The Readme file contains the step-by-step replication guide for Figures 1 - 6, C.1 and C.2, D.1 and D.2, and tables 1 - 4. The general steps are: 1. Prepare the data; 2. Process the data; 3. Replication. The Readme file provides also a short description of each function and script used for the replications.
