Description

The dataset contains a general folder (EEG_Trials) including power calculation of EEG recordings using EMOTIV Epoc X Plus, at 256 Hz resolution. The folder is subdivided into four folders: 1. BASELINE G1, participants who were assigned to a psychoeducation oriented to inform and reduce anxiety and depression symptoms. 2. BASELINE G2, a group of datasets from participants who were assigned to a Minfulness-Based Intervention. 3. FINAL G1, datasets from participants after receiving 8 psychoeducation based intervention sessions, and 4. FINAL G2, a group of datasets from participants after receiving 8 mindfulness based intervention sessions.

Recordings were gathered from 14 surface electrodes (AF3, F7, F3, FC5, T7, P7, O1, O2, P8, T8, FC6, F4, F8, AF4) and two reference electrodes (P3 and P4), based on the international 10-20 system. Specifically, the instrument uses the sequential sampling method—ADC (analog-to-digital conversion) only—at a speed of 128 or 256 SPS (2,048 Hz internal), and at a resolution of 14 bits; the bandwidth was between 0. 2-43 Hz, with digital notch filters at 50 Hz and 60 Hz; filtering is built in synchronous digital form and is fifth order; the dynamic range (reference input) is 8400 V peak to peak; the coupling mode is AC (alternating current); and connectivity is wireless 2.4G Hz band. All recordings in the participants were in awake resting state with eyes closed during 5 minutes in a quiet room. The electrode impedances were kept below 5 kOhms according to the EMOTIV graphic (green) interphase, with the use of saline solution. The participants were instructed to remain as quiet and still as possible during the recording session, after the collocation of the electrodes over the scalp.
