Description

The main objective of the study was to establish the effect of reward strategy, organizational commitment, empowerment, and employee performance in commercial banks listed in Nairobi Securities Exchange, Kenya. The study investigated the interaction of all the variables, their interrelatedness and dynamics when applied separately and together. The variables of the study namely reward strategy, organizational commitment, empowerment and performance each had unique interactive effects with one another in multiple different ways. Their applications in varied ways indicated a contribution to positive work outcomes and surprisingly findings indicate that they can be used in a heterogenous manner according to the objectives and circumstances of an organization. The data contains a sample description of all the participants and information of all four variables namely; reward strategy, organizational commitment, empowerment and employee performance. The data was gathered using self-administered questionnaires that had a five-point Likert scale. The Questionnaire was adopted from previous related studies and modified to suit the current study and then distributed to the employees of listed commercial banks in Nairobi Securities Exchange. The study identified the bank branches of all the 10 banks in Nairobi, Kenya which were the focus of the study. Simple random sampling technique was used to select the bank branches where the questionnaires would be distributed. This probability sampling technique ensured that from the larger population of bank branches of the 10 banks, each bank branch was selected independently and had an equal chance of being included in the sample. The questionnaires were then dropped to the branch manager for distribution to employees through stratified sampling technique and collected after completion. The data file can be accessed through SPSS Statistical Software for utilization and interpretation.
