Description

Purpose – The purpose of this research is to implement SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis and QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix) in developing education strategies at MTs Fadhilah Pekanbaru. Design/methodology/approach – This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques that include in-depth interviews with the school principal and surveys aimed at teachers to explore the school’s strategies in conducting SWOT and QSPM analysis for achieving educational goals at MTs Fadhilah Pekanbaru. Findings – The research findings indicate that the application of SWOT and QSPM analysis is effective in identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, as well as determining appropriate strategic priorities for the development of education at MTs Fadhilah Pekanbaru. The SWOT analysis resulted in two SO (Strength Opportunity) strategies, two WO (Weakness Opportunity) strategies, two ST (Strength Threat) strategies, and one WT (Weakness Threat) strategy. From these seven strategies, one was prioritized using the QSPM analysis tool. The QSPM analysis identified the fourth WO strategy, utilizing technological advancements and IT to enhance learning quality, as the top priority with the highest total attractiveness score (TAS) of 10.2. The originality of this research lies in the combination of SWOT and QSPM analyses within the context of madrasah education, which is rarely done in previous studies.
