Description

An areal non-point source watershed environmental response simulation model (ANSWERS-2000) was used to simulate and verify the monthly runoff and sediment yield, and also calculated the soil erosion rate for the Minjiang River catchment from 2008 to 2016. We subsequently quantified i) the erosion and deposition of SOC in the river basin, ii) the deposition of SOC in the river channel, and iii) the SOC discharged to the sea. The purpose of this investigation is to reveal the regional characteristics and influencing factors of the lateral transport of SOC in the Minjiang River catchment through the quantitative analysis of the corresponding temporal dynamics and spatial pattern.
