In this dataset in vitro apoptotic effects of the indicated statins alone and in combination with erlotinib have been investigated via MTT, light microscopy, caspase-3 activity and PARP cleavage via western blot. Also, lipid dependency of the apoptotic activity of indicated statins alone or combined with erlotinib via the mevalonate pathway (MVA). This dataset may help researchers to design further experiments with fluvastatin and pitavastatin to reveal their anti-tumor effects on various types of cancers.
