Description

Open hole wireline logs from offshore Gulf of Mexico and offshore Dutch North Sea. For each well the dataset consists of compressional (DTC) and shear sonic (DTS) logs, bulk density (RHOB), Gamma Ray (GR), Neutron porosity (NPHIL), formation resistivity (RESD), and total porosity (PhiT). Only the depth interval used in our work has been included here. The full well log data for the Dutch North Sea data can be accessed via the following URL: https://www.nlog.nl/nlog-mapviewer/brh/106532227?lang=nl. The full well logs for the Gulf of Mexico data is available from the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement and can be accessed via the following URL: https://www.data.bsee.gov/Main/. API number of the Gulf of Mexico well is 60824400040. The cite author showed that it is possible to estimate water saturation from P-wave (Vp) and S-wave (Vs) velocities computed from measured compressional and shear sonic logs. The new empirical model yield water saturations that are comparable to those obtainable from conventional saturation models.
