Steps to reproduce

Industrial Carbon Emission Intensity is calculated as the ratio between greenhouse gases emissions (in terms of carbon dioxide equivalent) from the industrial sectors covered by Emission Trading System (EU-ETS) and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the industrial sector in the period between 2008 and 2016. The aggregation of plant-level data to regional-level data is performed based on the nested structure of NUTS (nomenclature of territorial units for statistics), proposed by EUROSTAT. The dataset was developed within the framework of the EU EIT-Climate Kic Flagship Project “Re-Industrialise”.
