Description

These data are the two most informative Micro-CT-scans of pedorelicts interpreted as clasts of rhizogenic calcrete with ichnofossils from Charlcombe Bay, Portishead, North Somerset. Micro-focus Computed Tomography (μ-CT) scanning of TTP used a Nikon XTH225ST CT Scanner at the XTM Facility of the Palaeobiology Research Group, University of Bristol. See paper "A Triassic semi-arid upland community of herbaceous ferns and rhizophagous arthropods evidenced by ichnofossils in rhizogenic calcrete pedorelicts from SW England" for information. In the two 7-zip folders, MH_01_20um & MH_02, open the files with extensions '.xtekct' using Notepad++ or whatever for metadata which you will need for setting up a program to look at the CT-scans, especially the numbers of voxels and the voxel sizes in the X, Y and Z directions. The CT-scans are held in sub-folders as stacks of .tif files starting with _0000 . For just a quick peek, open and look at one of the tif files near the middle of the stack.
