This study analyzes wind characteristics using wind speed data collected using RNRG Systems 60m XHD tall tower met mast at 40m, 50m and 60m from Lunga District, Luapula Province in Zambia during the period 2017 to 2018. The annual mean wind speed was 5.4m/s at 60m and 6.8m/s at an extrapolated hub height of 116.5m. Further, this paper analyses the overall energy potential for the two proposed wind farm scenarios using two Vergnet GEV MP-200 wind turbines with 60m hub height for scenario one and two Vestas V117-3.45 wind turbines with 116.5m hub height for scenario two. WAsP application software was used to analyze the data generated.
