Description

These two figures show the chemical profile at the cross-section of samples after the proposed oxidation tests. The purpose was to investigate whether an alumina-forming austenitic stainless steel designed through thermodynamic/kinetic models form protective alumina scale. Oxidation tests were performed on the model alloy, alongside a control alloys based on literature. Elemental maps were produced using EDS, from the cross-section of the oxidized samples, and linescan was employed for comparison. The data provided in these two files are the intensity of X-ray produced from each element, as a function of depth (distance from surface), then normalized by dividing to the max intensity value for each element (so the values are between 0 and 1), then summed with an offset value for plotting.
