Steps to reproduce
These files were created using JMP 15.2. You must have JMP downloaded to use. To Use the Premade Files 1. Save the “Heatmap_Front_and_Back_Full-XY” file and “Heatmap_Front_and_Back_Full-Name” file in the file “maps” For Windows - C:/Program Files/SAS/JMP/13/Maps For Macs - Library/Application Support/JMP/Maps The next steps are in your own Data Table. Your data table should have two columns. The first should be a column identifying the designated body area (Location). The second should contain the numerical data (Data). 2. The Location column in your data table must match the content in the column “Names” (i.e. Scalp, Face, Neck, etc.) in the file “Heatmap_Front_and_Back_Full-Name” (these names must match exactly) 3. Right click the Location column heading and select “Column Properties” 4. Select “Map Role” 5. Under Map name data table, select “Open Data Table” 6. Select the “Heatmap_Front_and_Back_Full-Name” file 7. Right click the Data column with your data and select “column info” 8. Assure Data Type is Numeric and Modeling Type is Continuous 9. Select Graph and Graph Builder (Must be in your Data Table) 10. Click and drag the Location column into the graph 11. The outline of the body should appear – then drag the Data column into the graph 12. Adjust graph appearance as desired To Create Your Own Image 1. Download Custom Map Creator Add-in for JMP (Just search and download) 2. Open JMP and select “Add-Ins” at the top of the screen 3. Select “Map Shapes” 4. Select “Custom Map Creator” 5. To trace an image – In the graph window, select the white cross tool “Select”, right click the graph and paste the image you want to outline. 6. With the white cross, Click and drag the image into the Graph (you may have to double click the image) 7. Adjust margins using the “arrow” or “grabber” tool 8. Select “Next” 9. Name the shape you want to draw, begin plotting points to trace the boundaries of the desired image 10. Select “Next Shape” when finished with shape 11. Draw next shape 12. Select “Finish” when the image is created 13. Use the steps above – making sure you save both the -XY file and -Name file in the “maps” folder
