This dataset contains data used to evaluate the thermal outgassing of non-PFAS polymer O-ring seals containing HNBR (hydrogenated nitrile-butadiene rubber). We use residual gas analyzers (RGA) operated in thermal desorption spectrometry (TDS) mode with a high purity high vacuum heating stage for real time in-situ mass spectrometry of outgassing from samples of HNBR seals at elevated temperatures. We combine this with solid phase microextraction (SPME) with gas chromatography-quadrupole-time of flight mass spectrometry (GC-qTOF) for other samples from the same seals in order to extract high resolution, chromatographically separated mass spectra to elucidate thermal outgassing mechanisms.
