Qualitative variables are presented as absolute and relative frequencies. Values of the mean, median, standard deviation and minimum and maximum values were calculated for the quantitative variables. Associations between qualitative variables were assessed using Pearson's chi-square test or Fisher's exact test (when 25% or more of the expected values were less than 5). The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used under the null hypothesis that the data follow a normal distribution and thus established the statistical test for comparison of independent groups. The Mann-Whitney nonparametric test was chosen to compare the distributions of quantitative variables in relation to two independent groups. In the analysis of the factors associated with the outcomes of nausea and vomiting (at 6 and 24 hours) an univariate and multiple binary logistic regression was used. The level of significance adopted was 5% for all hypothesis tests (two-tailed). The analyses were performed using SPSS for Windows v.25 and Stata/MP 14.0 for Windows.
