Description

Research Hypothesis: The hypothesis of the study is that students' spatial visualization ability can be enhanced through coursework and training related to advanced technologies such as 3D modeling and 3D printing. The effectiveness of improvement may vary among students, considering factors such as gender, major, and pre-existing spatial ability levels. Data Description: The dataset primarily presents the results of spatial visualization ability tests administered to students before and after the implementation of the coursework. Additionally, it includes demographic information such as gender, major, and spatial ability levels. The assessments utilized the Revised Purdue Spatial Visualization Test: Rotations (Revised PSVT: R), a widely recognized tool for evaluating an individual's spatial visualization capacity, particularly in mental rotations. Interpretation and Significance: The data serves as a valuable resource for researchers, educators, and psychologists, offering insights into the impact of coursework and training on students' spatial visualization abilities. The dataset facilitates an understanding of the varying effects based on individual characteristics, contributing to the development of strategies aimed at enhancing spatial visualization skills.

Steps to reproduce

1. Conduct a literature review and formulate the questionnaire. 2. Translate the Revised Purdue Spatial Visualization Test: Rotations (Revised PSVT: R) and the questionnaire into Simplified Chinese. Host them on the online survey platform "WENJUANXING." 3. Identify the study participants and obtain approval from the ethics committee. 4. Before the implementation of the coursework, secure informed consent from participants. Subsequently, distribute the questionnaire and tests via mobile devices. The platform automatically collects relevant information, including demographic characteristics and pre-test results. 5. After the completion of the entire coursework, administer the tests again via mobile devices to obtain post-test results. 6. Collect and organize the relevant information.
