Pectin-Acrylamide-(2-Acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid) hydrogels were prepared by applying gamma radiation and then characterized by FTIR spectroscopy and DSC. The hydrogels show selectivity toward trivalent metal ions among 27 elements. pH=3 is the optimum for the best adsorption of metal ion.
