Effects of TMJ and upper cervical spine manual therapy on Pain Pressure Threshold and Quality Of Life in Somatic Tinnitus Patients.

Description

Somatic tinnitus is a condition which can be originate from musculoskeletal structures that are cervical spine and temporomandibular disorders. In the present study we evaluate the efficacy of upper cervical spine and temporomandibular joint manual therapy to find out the improvement in pain pressure threshold and quality of life in somatic tinnitus patients through manual therapy. patients were allocated into one of the three groups that were Group A(Cervicogenic Induced), Group B(TMD induced) and Group C(Dual modulatory factors induced). The outcome measures were Tinnitus Handicap Inventory, Digitalized Calibrated Algometer, Visual Analogue Scale for pain and loudness. They were assessed at baseline and after the second week. Six sessions of soft tissue manual therapy was provide on the alternative days.
