Description

Historical Organization Studies. The article's purpose is to investigate the practices of normalization of political violence committed by Volkswagen do Brasil (VWB) against its workers during the Brazilian military dictatorship (1964-1988), how they were configured, and how they were operationalized. The research corpus was composed of a set of public documents analyzed in an articulated method. They are from: - The Public Collections of the National Archives (AN) and the Public Archives of the State of São Paulo (APESP). - The Public Representation opened against the company Volkswagen do Brasil by the São Paulo Public Prosecutors Office. - The newspaper of the ABC Union - Tribuna Metalúrgica. - The VW Family magazine, published by the company Volkswagen do Brasil in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. - Newspaper public sources. These documents became sources based on the historical operation undertaken to contextualize and interpret the documents by the research objective. The records were analyzed in light of the analytical conceptual framework constructed, in principle, from historiography. Subsequently, the analytical framework was complemented with analytical categories from the field.
