MCFI: A Multi-Session Colored Fundus Image Dataset

Description

The MCFI dataset contains 442 high-resolution RGB fundus images collected from 37 participants at the University of Rajshahi, Rajshahi, Bangladesh, between September 2022 and April 2026. The dataset includes repeated imaging sessions and images from both the right (OD) and left (OS) eyes. The dataset is accompanied by demographic and participant-reported health-related metadata. 1. Key features of the dataset: - Multi-session and bilateral fundus imaging: The dataset contains 442 color fundus images from 37 participants, including 214 right-eye (OD) and 228 left-eye (OS) images collected across 84 imaging sessions. - High-resolution RGB images: All fundus images are stored in JPEG format with a resolution of 3072 × 3072 pixels and were acquired using an NFC-700 Automatic Non-Mydriatic Retinal Camera with a 45-degree field of view. - Participant-level metadata: The dataset includes demographic information such as age and gender, together with participant-reported information on eye conditions, treatments, symptoms, ophthalmologist visits, and selected health-related factors. - Longitudinal and biometric research: The repeated observations of the same participants and both eyes support research involving cross-session retinal image analysis, retinal biometrics, bilateral retinal comparison, image registration, and assessment of temporal stability. - Dataset organization: Images are hierarchically organized by participant ID -> imaging date -> Retina folder. Each image follows the naming convention [ParticipantID]_Retina_[Eye]_[Date]_[Time].jpg. A metadata.csv file provides the corresponding participant-level metadata.
