This study uncovered that global gene transcriptional regulation possibly by Ad4BP/SF-1, the essential factor of adrenogonadal development, generates adrenocortical sex difference, and that the physiological significance of the adrenocortical sex difference is to induce sex differences in every cell of animal body through sexually different amounts of glucocorticoid. These WB data provide us the sex difference of the expression of Ad4BP/SF-1 in Adrenal zF cells and the expression is suppressed by androgens. Additionally, we confirmed that the amount of Ad4BP/SF-1 is decreased in the heterozygotes of the factor.
