Description

Dataset analysed in the manuscript "Periorbital temperature responses to natural air temperature variation in wild birds" by C Soravia, BJ Ashton and AR Ridley. The study uses thermal imaging to investigate variation in periorbital temperature in wild southern pied babblers (Turdoides bicolor) under a wide range of air temperatures. The dataset includes measures of maximum temperature extracted from the eye region in wild birds, environmental variables and individual and social attributes (age, sex, body mass, rank, group size).
