Research Data for “Two-Fraction Kinetic Modelling of Ethyl Levulinate Production from Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunches via Dimethyl Carbonate-Assisted Ethanolysis
Description
This dataset contains the experimental and processed data supporting the study entitled “Two-Fraction Kinetic Modelling of Ethyl Levulinate Production from Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunches via Dimethyl Carbonate-Assisted Ethanolysis.” The dataset includes temperature- and time-dependent ethyl levulinate yield, humins yield, cellulose conversion, kinetic parameters used for Arrhenius analysis, apparent activation energy calculations, and experimental data used for artificial neural network modelling. The data support the kinetic modelling, Arrhenius analysis, and ANN analysis reported in the associated manuscript.

Steps to reproduce
The dataset contains the experimental and processed data used in the associated study. Temperature- and time-dependent experimental data can be used to reproduce the ethyl levulinate yield, humins yield, and cellulose conversion profiles reported in the manuscript. The kinetic parameters provided in the dataset can be used to reproduce the two-fraction kinetic analysis. For the Arrhenius analysis, plot ln(k) against 1/T and perform linear regression; the apparent activation energy (Ea) is calculated from the slope using Ea = −slope × R, where R = 8.314 J mol⁻¹ K⁻¹, and the pre-exponential factor (A) is calculated as A = exp(intercept). The ANN input sheet contains the experimental temperature, reaction time, and ethyl levulinate yield data used for ANN modelling. Detailed experimental procedures and kinetic model equations are provided in the associated manuscript.
