Description

The data file contains results of Lamb wave simulation in time domain obtained using a commercial FEA software OnScale. The displacement results were acquired from the surface of aluminum plate with dimensions 210×100×2 mm. Sample contains 4 areas, in which the thickness was decreased to 1.5 mm with in-plane dimensions: 6×6 mm, 10×10 mm, 20×20 mm and 40×40 mm. Plate was excited by a load on the area of 2x2 mm. The excitation signal was a Ricker wavelet with a central frequency of 250 kHz and 2 cycles.

Steps to reproduce

The simulation was performed using commercial FEA software OnScale. For the plate, the properties of aluminum were assumed: Young’s modulus 70 GPa, Poisson’s ratio 0.33, and density 2700 kg/m^3. The plate with dimensions equal 210×100×2 mm were meshed with a hexahedral element size of 0.25 mm. The overall simulation time was 0.5 ms with sampling frequency of around 35.42 MHz . The excitation signal was a Ricker wavelet with a central frequency of 250 kHz and 2 cycles, applied as a load on the area of 2x2 mm.
