Description

DNA profiles recovery from different exteriors were compared regarding the percentage of alleles observed as well as the average peak heights and area. The percentage of alleles observed was calculated using: (Number of donor’s alleles observed/Total number of alleles expected)×100. A significantly higher success rates of DNA recovery were obtained from two parts of the handguns: slide serrations and magazine releases. Superiority results of grip panel were observed for the assessment indicators of average peak heights and area for each item.
