Description

The series of prenatal ultrasound images was created by experts in fetal-maternal medicine for educational purposes and to aid in developing AI recognition models. The current dataset contains prenatal ultrasound images of the cases with signs suggestive of anal malformations during the second-trimester screening. Follow-up images are provided if available, as well as the pregnancy outcome and postnatal findings of anal atresia. The presented cases were described in an Original Article published in the Taiwanese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology titled "A practical method for prenatal diagnosis of anal atresia by second trimester ultrasound screening - A retrospective study" by Ko et al. The primary objective of the article was to evaluate the performance of ultrasound screening for anorectal malformations during mid-trimester routine anatomical scans in a primary care fetal medicine clinic.
