EAESE is a historical educational dataset that collects statistical information on the secondary education educational system in Spain in the academic year 1877-1878 as published by the public administration of the time, in an initiative to disseminate educational statistics that was unparalleled at any other time of the century. The dataset includes information on students’ performance by subjects as well as academic and financial information of all Spanish high schools. In addition, it includes an account of all students who obtained a prize or a praise in a specific subject and those who obtained their title (Bachillerato) during that academic year.
