Description

The information in this dataset encompasses statistics about the performance of free and premium items in three different free-to-play video games (War Thunder, World of Tanks, and World of Warships). Data were extracted by web scraping from Thunderskill.com, Blitzstars.com, Noobmeter.com, Wows-numbers.com, and Wowstats.org between August 2019 and October 2019. Each observation is a vehicle in one of the three video games considered. For each video game, there are different sub-databases with information about the win ratio, status (premium or free), type, tier, and the number of battles for each vehicle. For some video games, databases encompass other variables, such as nation, spots ratios, or survival ratios. Data is either in Excel or Stata formats. The database is ready to use. It could be used to draw statistics and conclusions on vehicles’ performance, differences between performances in each game, compare the performance by nation or type of vehicle, or to test whether or not the games are equilibrated.
