This dataset supports the study titled "Estimation of Chlorophyll-a in Uncrewed Aircraft Systems Imagery using Autonomous Surface Vessel data with Machine Learning Algorithms and Feature Selection Techniques" for monitoring Chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) in the Western Mississippi Sound (WMS). It includes field-measured in situ Chl-a concentrations alongside remote sensing reflectance (Rrs) data derived from a hand-held radiometer. The Rrs values correspond to five spectral bands of the Micasense RedEdge sensor, adjusted to match the sensor's spectral response. These data were collected concurrently with an Autonomous Surface Vessel (ASV) and Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS) to ensure compatibility with remote sensing applications.
