Screening dataset of food components that inhibit transcriptional activity of FOXO1

Description

List of food-derived and natural compounds and their values of reporter activity as FOXO1-transcriptional inhibitors. Vehicle alone serves as the reference value (set as 100). Data are expressed as mean ± SE (No.1-404: N = 3, No. 405-524: N = 2). Statistical analyses were performed using the Student's two-tailed unpaired t-test. ***P < 0.001, **P < 0.01, *P < 0.05 compared with the samples in the presence of vehicle alone. HEK293T cells were transfected with GAL4-FOXO1 or GAL4-FOXO3a, (UAS)4-Luc and phRL-TK Luc. Each compound was added and incubated for 20 h and luciferase assay was performed. Final concentrations: 1 nM, 10 nM, 100 nM, 1 µM, 10 µM. Data are expressed as mean ± SE (N = 4). Statistical analyses were performed using 1-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) with Dunnett’s post-hoc test. ***P < 0.001, **P < 0.01, *P < 0.05 compared with the samples in the presence of vehicle alone.
