Description

This dataset has accelerometer data collected from a drilling process for four tools as they are run from new condition to a point when they are blunt. The file naming convention used is: The words 'DrillingToolWearDataset_' is common to all data files. The terms 'Txx_' following these terms indicate the tool number with xx taking the values 01,02,03 or 04, indicating tools 1-4. The terms 'Rxx' following this indicates the run number and will have values 01 or 02 indicating Run 1 or Run 2. The tool starts as a new tool at the beginning of run 1. The drilling process is stopped at the end of run 1 and the tool is inspected ted visually for wear. Then the same tool is used to continue the drilling process till it is completely blunt at the end of run 2. Other specifications: Accelerometer: Dytran 3-axis accelerometer (Model: 3273A2). Data Acquisition System: National Instruments NI cDAQ 9174 Sampling rate: 1000 samples/second Drilling Speed: 490 RPM, Feed: 0.285 mm/rev
