JSY Data Package
Description
This JSY Data Package contains the following information related to the research article "Cash Incentive or Supply-Side Expansion? The Effect of India's Janani Suraksha Yojana on Institutional Delivery" (i) paper1_estimation.R reproduces all estimations and robustness check in the manuscript from these datasets. It is fully self-contained. No econometrics packages and no internet connection are required. Every estimator - the weighted linear probability model, the CR1 cluster-robust variance, the wild-cluster bootstrap (restricted-null p-values and unrestricted percentile-t confidence intervals), and the design-based randomization test - is coded directly in the file. (ii) Data files : (a) paper1_analysis.csv: the main analysis dataset (b) NFHS2_clean.csv : for the Section 7.1 parallel-trends test (c) nfhs3_birth_timing.csv: for the Section 7.5 timing check (d) paper1_codebook: contains all the descriptions (iii) one CSV per table (Tables 1-7 and every Section-7 robustness table 7.1 - 7.6) along with anc4_continuum, cost_per_additional_delivery, and heterogeneity results.
