Here we provide code that we used to obtain results published in "normal capillary forces on a spherical particle protruding from a thin liquid film and its application to swarming bacteria". The code is written in Matlab, and we have uploaded scripts that contain the code. Here are the instructions to use them: 1) Place all files (Capillary_forces, Meniscus_Profile, BCFuncS, guess, makeMesh, ODEFuncSGrP) in one folder 2) Open Matlab and find that folder 3) Run the script "Meniscus_Profile" or "Capillary_forces". The plots should appear. You can adjust the parameters inside the script to produce different plots.
