Description

Data was collected from 208 elite male esports players competing in the Honor of Kings (HOK) professional league (KPL) and national championship in China. This cross-sectional survey data were used to examine how professional gaming experience (PGE) shapes players’ psychological well-being (PWB) through a parallel mediation model of fragile inner-self, mental toughness, and physical health, while accounting for the protective effects of social support and sleep quality. The original sample included 229 responses; 21 invalid responses (due to failed attention checks or completion times under 3 minutes) were removed to yield the final sample of N=208. The dataset includes the cleaned survey data (CSV format) and the Hayes PROCESS macro output for the mediation analysis.
