Dataset of Green HRM practices and Green Transformational leadership on Employee ecological behavior of academicians in Malaysia
Description
In order to assess the potential link between green human resource management practices, green transformational leadership, and employee ecological behavior, a regression analysis was conducted using the Statistical Package of Social Sciences (SPSS) 28. The data was obtained through a cross-sectional survey of 208 university lecturers in Malaysia, with a purposive sample selected for the study. This article provides insight into the participants' demographics and descriptive data on their responses. Additionally, it includes information on the mean, standard deviation, and reliability of the measured constructs, as well as a summary of the regression analysis model. These findings can be used to guide top management in higher education institutions and commercial organizations in promoting ecologically friendly behavior among employees, particularly those in academia, to help reduce environmental degradation.

The online surveys were conducted from August 2023 to December 2023. The online survey, using Google Forms, was emailed to the respondents' official email. A cover letter was included in the survey stating the study's objective, soliciting respondents' voluntary participation and assurance of anonymity. The questionnaire design was adapted from relevant literature. The survey consists of four sets of variables, including (1) demographic data, (2) ecological employee behavior, (3) green human resource management, and (4) green transformational leadership. Employee ecological behaviour was measured by a 7-item scale adapted from Wesselink et al. (2017), with Cronbach's alpha of 0.767. The measurement scales were scored on a 5-point Likert-type scale with responses to statements ranging from (1) "Never" to (5) "Always." The green human resource management 6-item scale was adapted from Tang et al. 2018 with Cronbach's alpha of 0.910. It was measured on a 5-point Likert-type scale ranging from "1"- completely disagree to "5" – Complete agree. The green transformational leadership 6-item scale was adapted from Chen and Chang 2013 with Cronbach's alpha of 0.940. It was measured on a 5-point Likert-type scale ranging from "1" - strongly disagree to "5" - strongly agree. This study used Statistical Package of Social Sciences (SPSS) 28 regression analysis.
