Nursing students health concept data. Research hypothesis. Objective : To examine first-year nursing students’ understanding of health and its evolution after an instructional intervention. Mayerial and methods: A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest study with 155 first-year students used a mixed-methods design. Two instructional approaches, Lecture-Based and Case-Based Learning, addressed the concept of health. Each group answered two open-ended questions before and after the intervention. A phenomenographic approach identified variations in students’ conceptions, later converted into numerical data for analysis.
