Description

In 2015, Rwanda embarked on a new curriculum aiming at enriching the learned knowledge with required competencies. In this regard, in planning the lesson, the teacher is required to set a clear instructional objective and integrate cross-cutting issues as well as evaluate acquired competencies. However, since 2015 there was no protocol to assess pedagogical documents such as lesson plans. Therefore, we have developed a lesson plan analysis protocol (LPAP) to cater to this problem. After validating it and check its reliability of use, we have collected a number of lesson plans from various teachers for practice. This data will serve as a guideline for teachers and tools for policymakers, education evaluators, developmental partners, and researchers to use this protocol.
