Description

The data presented here is a Computer Aided Design (CAD) assembly of Total Knee Replacement (TKR) components with Femur and Tibia bones at hyperflexion (120 degrees of knee). The assembly of Total Knee Replacement components with Femur and Tibia bones at hyperflexion of knee can be visualized; it consists of Femoral component, Bearing component, Tibial component, Femur and Tibia. The CAD models of Total Knee Replacement components were developed using reverse engineering technique. CAD of Femur and Tibia bones were developed using MRI images of an Indian patient. Resection of Femur and Tibia was accomplished with the help of a professional surgeon from Apollo Hospital, Bangalore. The final assembly of Total Knee Replacement components with Femur and Tibia bones was executed in Solidworks [1]. This method is same as published by Kanyal [2]. The assembled model (ASSEMBLY.x_t, or ASSEMBLY.IGS) presented here can be imported to any CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) software like Hypermesh [3], Abaqus [4], Ansys [5] etc. for executing a finite element analysis which might be very crucial for throwing light into knee kinematics and mechanics at hyperflexion of the knee. Therefore, the CAD assembly can prove very useful in a research concerning Total Knee Replacement.
