Description

Rheological data on 0.75 wt% suspension of Nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) in water are presented. Two types of oscillation experiments were performed: stress amplitude sweep experiments at constant frequency and frequency sweep experiments at constant amplitude of stress. Values of elastic mudulus G' and viscous modulus G'' are presented. Data from four frequency sweep experiments and seven amplitude sweep experiments are presented.

Steps to reproduce

Nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) was prepared from TEMPO-oxidized bleached pulp by mechanical delamination. Sonication and ultracentrifugation was subsequently used in order to remove large aggregates. The measurements were performed using Bohlin CVO rheometer (Malvern Instruments Limited, UK). A cone-plate geometry (4 °/40 mm) was used with a gap width of 150 μm. The experiments were performed at 20 °C. The sample and geometry were covered with a plastic lid in order to prevent sample evaporation. In the amplitude sweep experiments the shear stress amplitude was increased from 5-40 Pa at a fixed frequency. The frequency sweep experiments, were performed at constant shear stress aplitude with the frequency sweeping from 0.1-40 Hz.
