Description

• Mussels from reservoir (R) and downstream from the dam site were compared; • R-group shows low levels of cholinesterase, catalase, caspase-3, metallothionein; • R-mussels accumulate excess of Zn and Cu in the tissues; • In the R-group increased levels of GSSG and protein carbonyls were detected; • Metabolic activities in both groups are similar.
