Description

Output, consumption, investment, wages, total hours worked and the relative price of investment goods are expressed in logarithm and multiplied by 100. Output, consumption and investment and wages are deflated by the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) index (see the main text). Output, consumption, investment and total hours worked are expressed per capita. Total hours worked are expressed as a deviation from the average. Output, consumption, investment, wages and Inflation are expressed in terms of the first difference of the logarithm. The interest rate is the Federal Funds Rate. The interest rate and inflation rate are expressed on a quarterly basis. All data are taken from the OECD Economic Outlook database, a comprehensive and consistent cross-country database which integrates data from the national statistics authorities including the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.
