Steps to reproduce
FIELD MEASUREMENTS On-site air temperature, relative humidity, dew point, and wind speed data were collected from the study site for a period of twenty-one days, from 10th to the 31st of August 2018. This period of the year was used to obtain daily changes in air temperature for the stated number of days. HOBO UX100-011 data loggers and MS6252B Digital Anemometer were placed at the height of 1.5m above the ground to capture the climatic condition parameter. Before the commencement of the actual measurement, a 10days pretest measurement was conducted for the climatic condition parameter. The pretest measurement took place from the 1st to 10th day of August 2018. It was carried out to ensure the functionality and reliability of the data loggers. All the data loggers were set to commence capturing at 8:00hrs on the first day. Receptor points were selected for the on-site measurements (Fig. 2b) as; i. location without vegetation (TNV), ii. location with grasses only (TGR), iii. location with trees only (TTR), and iv. location with both trees and grass (TTG). The four different receptors were placed to capture all the possible different vegetation scenarios on the site. Both the actual and the pretest measurements were carried out on the same measurement points. SIMULATION Envi-met Version 4.4.2 computer simulation was employed in this study for the simulation of the modeled environment.
