Description

Description for the utilization of new User Defined Results (UDR) in Ansys software In Ansys software, User Defined Results (UDRs) allow users to define and compute their own quantities of interest during the simulation process. These results are not predefined by the software but rather customized by the user according to their specific needs and analysis requirements. With (UDRs), users can define their own mathematical expressions or algorithms to compute quantities that are not available in the standard output of Ansys simulations. UDRs provide flexibility in analysing simulation results by allowing users to create tailored post-processing metrics suited to their particular engineering problem or research focus. According to Ansys guide for using a user-defined result, it is required to create expression and fill in the ‘expression’ line in the details window in Ansys workbench (figure 15). After defining the UDR, ANSYS will compile the expression to generate the necessary code for evaluation during post-processing. The important part of this process is that it need to solve the model first before using the Worksheet view. This is because before the model has been solved, software doesn’t know what is in the result file. The benefit of using the User Defined is to find total stress, displacement, total strain, based on own expression.
