The review adopted the modified Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines for conducting systematic reviews of research (Page et al., 2021). The search string TITLE-ABS-KEY (“DGBL”) AND (“EDUCAT” OR “LEARN*” OR “TEACH*” OR “PEDAGOG*”) were entered into the Scopus search engine.
