Description
This dataset is a list of journal articles used to analyze methods used in assessing climate change literacy. The dataset has the author(s)'s name(s), article information like year of publication, title, journal, and region and country of study. It also includes participants in the studies, research methods used, aspects or domains of climate change literacy used, climate change literacy levels presented, predictors of climate change literacy, and how climate change literacy is linked to climate action.

Steps to reproduce
Scoping of articles on SCOPUS and ScienceDirect databases based on the PRISMA framework was conducted using pre-determined keywords "climate change literacy" OR "climate literacy" OR "climate change knowledge" OR "climate change understanding" OR "climate change awareness" AND assess* OR measur* OR evaluat* in SCOPUS. The ScienceDirect search had the same search string minus the (AND assess* OR measur* OR evaluat* ) since the asterix (*) wildcat is not supported in the database's search. After the initial search yielded 773 articles, the number was reduced to 64 articles after undergoing screening and eligibility stages during which several articles were excluded because they did not measure or assess climate change knowledge but attitudes or perceptions and the authors had no access.
