Analysis of Scientific Production in the Field of Research Ethics in Scopus: A Comparison of International Output

This study aims to provide a clear picture of the scientific field of production in research ethics at the regional, national and international level. This is a descriptive and Scientometrics study. The sample includes all the scientific production in the research ethics field. The focus on Iranian productions was indexed in Scopus by the end of 2017. The results showed that the United States was the highest producer (31.6%), followed by United Kingdom (16.9%), while Iran ranked 25th worldwide. Iran was ranked first amongst Middle East countries. The highest level of cooperation was in the United States. The H-Index result for Iranian production calculated the value of 9. The citation per document was examined at a rate of 3.75. The study revealed that academic systems and universities globally would require constant monitoring and ethical evaluation of scientific indicators, to achieve the first scientific level in the region.
