Description

This dataset obtained from the synthesis and characterization of sulfonated poly (norbornene) and ionic polymer membranes based on it. The polymer was synthesized via one-pot two step ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) and subsequent reduction by p-toluenesulfonyl hydrazide. The dataset contains raw spectra and thermal data of hydrated poly (phenyl norbornene) (HPPhNB), sulfonated hydrated poly (phenyl norbornene) (SHPPhNB), imidazolium sulfonated hydrated poly (phenyl norbornene) (SHPPhNB-Im) and 1-methylimidazolium sulfonated hydrated (phenyl norbornene) (SHPPhNB-MIm) as 1H NMR free induction decays (FID), raw FTIR spectra and DSC curves. Data from electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) for membranes prepared from ionomers and blend with PVDF membranes are provided. Images of both surfaces and cross-section of blend membranes obtained by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) are presented.
