We enrolled women aged ≥18 years, undergoing diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy without anesthesia. The patients were randomly divided evenly into an intervention and a control group. The patients in the interventional arm were introduced to a concise, animated video explaining the indication for hysteroscopy, how to prepare for the procedure, what to expect during and after the procedure and what are the possible follow up scenarios A basic demographic questionnaire, including age, weight, obstetrical history, chronic diseases and medications, and the indication for the hysteroscopy was filled for each patient. For each patient enrolled, the clinical presentation and sonographic findings were recorded. Following completion of hysteroscopy data was recorded for cervical and intrauterine findings. Before the hysteroscopy, all patients completed a questionnaire regarding their anxiety level concerning the procedure and following completion of the hysteroscopy, all patients completed a Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) questionnaire regarding the level of pain and discomfort they have experienced during the procedure.
