Organic Components Modulate the Morphology of Respirable Aerovirology Relevant Aerosols
Description
This dataset contains experimental data for model bioaerosol particles generated from solutions containing the chemicals listed in the associated files. Aerosols were produced and dried with dilution air to achieve a relative humidity (RH) of 35%, allowed to remain suspended for 10 s, and then collected using an 8-stage Andersen Cascade Impactor. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) grids were placed on Stages 2–6 to collect particles for morphological and elemental characterization using SEM coupled with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM/EDX). The dataset includes experimental setup figures, representative SEM images of dried model bioaerosol particles, particle size distribution data, and SEM/EDX results. Detailed experimental procedures are available in the associated publication.

Steps to reproduce
Solutions containing the chemicals listed in the file were aerosolized and subsequently dried using dilution air to reduce the relative humidity (RH) to 35%. The resulting particles were allowed to remain suspended for 10 seconds before collection with an 8-stage Andersen Cascade Impactor used as a model bioaerosol sampling system. SEM grids were placed on Stages 2 through 6 of the impactor, and particle morphology and elemental composition were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM/EDX) for each grid. Additional experimental details can be found in the referenced published work.
