Brainstem sensing of multiple body signals during food consumption
Description
This dataset contains the two photon calcium imaging traces and cell masks from LPBN, related to our paper: Essner, Ruda et al., 2026, "Brainstem sensing of multiple body signals during food consumption," published in Neuron. Each .mat file contains the relevant neural activity and behavioral (licking, running, pupil area) data from one imaging session from one mouse, organized into a "traces" structure. Below is a description of important structure fields: params: imaging and analyses parameters, e.g., framerate (fs) nframesRun: number of frames within each imaging run of the session cell_planes: which plane a neuron came from if multiple imaging planes cell_stat: cell_stat output from Suite2p cells: raw, neuropil corrected, and neuropil fluorescence traces from each neuron ftraces: stimulus-aligned and normalized traces from each neuron (each row is an imaging run) btraces: raw and stimulus-aligned behavior traces from each imaging run Each folder contains all the relevant data from a single experiment type. "Stimuli" refer to Ensure, tail shock, and InsCtx-LPBN photostimulation.
