Data for: Current Use and Training Needs of Point-of-Care Ultrasound in Emergency Departments in the Veterans Affairs Health Care System
Description
We have submitted the complete dataset from the national VA Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) survey by the Office of Patient Care Services, in partnership with the National Simulation Learning Education and Research Network (SimLEARN) Center, and the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Specialty Care Centers of Innovation (SCCI) to assess the current state of POCUS use and activities in acute care settings within VHA. This report is the primary method to communicate the baseline findings and drive enhancements in POCUS use, policy, and training across specialties. The web-based survey, open for response between April 7, 2016 and July 25, 2016, was sent through the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) offices to facility Directors for completion by the Chief of Staff and each clinical service that uses POCUS. One hundred thirty-nine Chiefs of Staff and 738 Service Chiefs responded to the survey.
